چکیده

Sleep impairment is highly prevalent in night shift workers, but evidence on the association of former work (NSW) and its metrics (duration frequency) relation to sleep complaints lacking. We evaluated current NSW with chronic insomnia or circadian rhythm disorder a sample general worker (GW) population hospital workers (HW) Austria. Information sleep, history, sociodemographic, lifestyle factors was collected through an online cross-sectional survey representative GW (N= 1,004) HW 799) between 2017 2019. Multi-variable adjusted logistic regression used estimate odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for various measures (including insomnia, daytime sleepiness, duration, napping habits) doctor-diagnosed across exposure (never work; ever; ever/former; ever/current) related (cumulative average frequency), compared never NSW. Effect modification by chronotype investigated. Former associated higher both samples (GW: OR = 2.28, CI 1.07–4.83; HW: 1.17, 0.60–2.27). Chronic tended increase among (HW: 1.50, 0.79–2.83), day workers. Higher frequency (shifts/month) ORper shift/month 1.06, 1.00–1.12; 1.12, 1.00–1.25). also increased sleepiness (OR 2.26, 1.28–3.99). Associations were more pronounced early chronotypes participants who reported no naps. Our results suggest that even years after cessation involvement working it.

Sleep complaints and polysomnographic findings: a study of nuclear power plant shift workers.

The literature widely recognizes that shift workers have more health complaints than the general population. The objective of this study was to describe the prevalence of sleep complaints and verify the polysomnographic (PSG) variables of shift workers in two Brazilian nuclear power plants. We carried out a subjective evaluation with a sleep questionnaire. Based on these results, the interviewe...

Sleep Architecture in Night Shift Workers Police Officers with Obstructive Sleep Apnea-hypopnea Syndrome

Introduction Reduced sleep to increase work hours is common among police officers, when this situation is combined with Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), health consequences are greater, therefore we believe there is a need of research for these alterations. The aim of this study was to measure the changes in sleep architecture (SA) in police officers who currently have Night s...

Comparison of sleep-related cardiac autonomic function between rotating-shift and permanent night-shift workers.

The purpose of this study was to explore whether sleep-related cardiac sympathetic activity is significantly lower in rotating shift workers than in permanent night shift workers, in order to evaluate whether shift work is preferable to permanent night work. Our sample comprised of twelve permanent night shift nurses and twelve rotating three-shift nurses. All female nurses slept in their dormi...

Association between night-shift work and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels in Japanese male indoor workers: a cross-sectional study.

Although low vitamin D status resulting from night work is a suspected cause of various health disorders, few studies have investigated the association between night-shift work and vitamin D status. Here, we examined serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) levels in 19 Japanese indoor workers, including night-shift workers, in blood samples collected at the annual medical checkup (late July) in a met...
